True, I should've considered that.

OK...warped, cynical, sarcastic sense of humor. I like that. Could have been a line from Family Guy ...

Sounds eerily similar to the "Goodnight" scene from the Waltons -- (a TV show from yesteryear...) Goodnight Mick Goodnight John Goodnight Peter Goodnight Jeremy Goodnight Danny Goodnight Bob.... (Ah hell...you get the picture...) And we are STILL discussing those old episodes of the Mac ... |

I don't mind the officially released version, I don't love it, but it's ok, but this demo is one of the worst pieces of **** I've ever heard. I deleted it right away, there's no need to save that.

I think the demo is horrid; especially her shrill, abrubt voice: "She consults her book."
However, I like the Tango version. Why? It's such an unusual song...and as direct as Stevie will ever be about her stint in rehab. It's hers and hers alone - no one else would or could write a song like that! I totally get the "island feel" as Lindsey described it in 1987. And her response to her greeting Betty Ford is classic Stevie: Rehab counselor: "Welcome to the room, Sara" Stevie: "Welcome to the choir, Sir" (a sly reference to her professional status) Plus, there's her reference to Front Line Management, the company she battled with, and apparently felt imprisoned by..."Front line baby, well you held her prisoner..."

As crazy as it sounds, I actually LOVE the demo, it's better than the released version IMO. It sounds meaner and has a more raw and open feeling to it. The released version is much too pop sounding IMO.
