"Dreams" Question
Who played the vibraphone/xylophone on "Dreams"?
I say it had to have been either Lindsey or Christine--or maybe one of the engineers.

Something says Christine. I dunno, seems like something she'd be playing.

Back in that time(the 1970's), I'd say it was Christine.

I thought it was just me that noticed them...

It's probably the same person that plays on That's All For Everyone.

My bet would be Mick. Xylophone is a percussion instrument, and in concert he plays the chimes for "The Chain," which is a sideline instrument in the percussion field.

I'll SURELY bet that it's NOT Mick. He's a drummer. Not a musician.

I was just wondering that too, David. I had never noticed them before, but I heard them while listening to the instrumental tracks Carrie reposted. I guess they were masked by the vocals before, or they resided in the long ago worn away grooves on my 1977 vinyl.

i have another question about dreams that´s propably talked here earlier,
on the dance concert stevie forgot twice the opening line to dreams, it´s edited from the video, but you can see at the end how pleased stevie is towards audience for accepting her mistakes. was the mistakes shown in the original tv broadcast? |

^^ In an interview around the time the 'Dance' was filmed, Stevie said she was so nervous that she flubbed the opening lyrics to "Dreams" twice.
They filmed three nights of shows though... the dress rehearsal and two in front of a full audience... so it's possible/probable that the "Dreams" we see in the video isn't even from the same night that the flubbings occured. To answer LittleWolf's question... no, the mistakes weren't aired.

Percussion yes, but still being beyond the -untrained- skills of a -High School dropout- caveman. I GUARANTEE you, he didn't play them.
