LOL nope. While I accept the notion that she *could* sing it, I'm still hedging my bets she won't sing it and will do tried and true oldies.

I don't think I actually WANT to hear her sing The Lighthouse, especially if she's going to do that awful high-pitched whispery and overly long intro.

She's at the point now where her so-so performances are glossed over because of her age and how long she's been around.. you know that sort of "bless her heart, she's SEVENTY-SIX!! But wasn't she hot back in the day...." (cringe)

I can't wait to find out what songs she sang. Not that I'm excited, I don't even have NBC, I'll probably know it on Sunday. It's just that I've read so many bets here that I want to know who guessed the right songs. This thread must have been a poll.

Stevie Nicks will perform her song
"The Lighthouse" as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on October 12, 2024. This will be her first appearance on the show since 1983, when she promoted her second solo album. Ariana Grande will host the episode. •
Nicks wrote "The Lighthouse" a few months after the overturning of Roe v. Wade as a call to action for women's rights. She has said that the song may be the most important thing she has ever done to stand up for women and the men who love them.

Where did you read that? I read it's likely she'll be performing "The Lighthouse".

‘SNL’ Promo: Ariana Grande & Bowen Yang Try Dirty Tricks, But Stevie Nicks Wins In A Landslide

By Erik Pedersen

October 10, 2024 3:50pm

'SNL' promo Ariana Grande & Stevie Nicks

NBC via YouTube
Don’t stop thinkin’ about dreams comin’ true for a young pop star.

Ariana Grande is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend, and today we got a mini-preview of her with musical guest Stevie Nicks as the Fleetwood Mac legend joined the young hitmaker and SNL‘s Bowen Yang for a fun promo. Watch it below.

The second of two quick-hit clips sees Yang noting that this will be Grande’s second time hosting the late-night stalwart. Grande replies, “Well, you know what they say: Lightning strikes maybe once, maybe twice.” MacHeads know that lyric from the band’s 1982 hit “Gypsy,” and it didn’t sneak past Nicks. “You can’t trick me into singing,” she admonishes.

Yang tries to change the subject by asking Grande how her weekend was. “It was good,” she replies. “You know, I climbed a mountain and I turned around…” Yang jumped in with, “And I saw my reflection on the snow-covered hills…”

Cue anticipatory pause.

After a beat or three, Nicks caves: “And the landslide brought me down,” she sings.

Cue wild celebration from Grande and Yang over “Landslide,” the double-platinum single from Mac’s 7 million-selling eponymous album.

Saturday Night Live airs at 8:30 p.m. PT/11:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Live, of course.

SNL doesn't say what she'll sing:

Stevie Nicks is the October 12 Musical Guest

The Musical Guest for Grande's episode will be Stevie Nicks. The singer-songwriter first rose to fame as a member of Fleetwood Mac, and her solo career includes hits such as "Wild Heart" and "Edge of Seventeen."

Nicks released the single "The Lighthouse" on September 27, 2024. This will be her first Saturday Night Live performance since December 10, 1983.

Why can't she say her S's anymore, and what are all those weird-ass hand gestures she's doing?

She looks good, and I am excited for Saturday. Will be watching with a glass of something, to be sure.

Vid would not play in my jurisdiction. What is she doing?

I noticed this too!

Getting her natural teeth (which were much larger, see her top front teeth in old early FM/Rumours pics) replaced at some point with the more even, and smaller, teeth she has now (and has had for some time) really messed with her speech.

She's been super lispy for a long time.... this was part of the discussions on here about her singing on the 24kt Gold album....very slurry and slushy, especially any "S"s . It definitely seems even worse in her speech in those promos...

I also thought her hair looked especially tatty. I wanted to tell her to get a new wig...

That said, she is fast approaching 80 and still out there banging that tambourine, which, as someone over 2 decades younger than her and really starting to notice the effects of aging, I really do admire. However at some point you have to look like older you, not a faded version of younger you, if you know what i mean..

Wow, I feel like I missed out on the teeth-replacement conspiracy fun. Is this the first time its been mentioned, or was this a mini-scandal from recent years that I missed?
