You made me remember I used to have a golden McDonalds ashtray from the 80s, similar to the attached pic. I kept it as a souvenir from my second travel to the US. There was KFC and Pizza Hut in Peru in the 80s, but no McDonalds.

Well fukc. I'm here. Bidding is ONLY online. A week ago I tried to enter my credit card into their system, like a DOZEN times, and it kept telling me it was invalid. Since they're ONLY accepting online bids, I'm fukced. I brought several hundred in cash with me, but it's not accepted.

They have 30 seats here, and there are only 4 people here, including myself.

A hand mirror just went for $350. Empty perfume bottles for $300. Two soap dishes for $900.... I'm out of my league....

JMO, but anyone that pays $900 for a fukcing soap dish is a moron.

I originally bid on two items. I was outbid on one of them a week ago. One of them stayed at my bid price until this morning. I honestly doubt someone else wanted it and that the auction house was driving up the price. I did not do a second bid. As much as I would have liked to have something of Christine's I realize it's just things. I could use that $ to buy groceries.

I agree. I'd be mad at myself for a month if I paid $900 for a soap dish.

I know that WE love her more than the rest of the band, but I'm SHOCKED that that many people are willing to pay such high prices. I'd expect that when Old Goatsy kicks the bucket. People would kill to own her stuff(I'd throw darts at it).

I hate to say it but a lot of that stuff may well show up on eBay etc.

I bought in the last auction, and hit my upper limit on her wardrobe road case, but didn't think it fully through about the commission and taxes and fees and shipping ... it all added another roughly 2k to what I paid....

I absolutely sat this one out after that..

Holy crap.
Yeah, I've read the fine print on the added fees. They're sticking it to you.

I bid on 2 items and was not outbid until the live auction. Oddly enough one of the items I bid on as a longshot sold for much less than the item I thought would not interest as many. I was on vacation and not near a computer to partake in the live auction. If I was online during the live auction its possible I could have come away with one of the items.
But everything happens for a reason and I congratulate all the winners.

Christine can now officially be considered a visual medium artist. Her original dozing dog drawing went for $2,925.

I went after that Rob Rogers Clinton cartoon mentioning "that Fleetwood Mac song" but it sold for over double what I thought it would

It's crazy that that many people can spend that kind of money.

So I'm NOT comparing Porter Wagoner(they guy who gave Dolly her start) to Christine, but I went to his estate sale(s), and for example, I got a framed award given to him, a stained glass lamp of his, a ceramic thing from his desk that he kept his glasses in, his radar detector!, an answering machine phone, that had all these condolence messages on it, from the day after he died. AND, two VHS home movies of Christmases at home, with them all laying around, watching movies and talking to the camera. I got ALL THAT for less than $100.

Y'all know Christine is my favorite...I'd EXPECT those kind of prices when Old Goatsy kicks the bucket, but I never dreamed Chris' stuff would bring those kind of prices.
