Madonna - Live To Tell
I am not a Madonna fan. I am sort of old school and not big on singers dancing at the same time nor a fan of tributes during concerts.
Having said that, I saw this Madonna tribute to AIDS victims on youtube on her latest tour and I was floored. Whoever created this definitely earned their money. I found it very powerful and moving. As Madonna moves around the arena in a box, giant photos of people start appearing around the arena with their names. More and more photos start coming until the end when there are so many photos in smaller boxes. On the runway below her is a guy dressed all in black walking slowly carrying a red balloon. At the end he slowly lets the balloon fly away. Really well done! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmR2tcIy4kQ

I used to love this song. I haven’t heard it in forever. This was a song that she and Patrick Leonard wrote — I think — and it was used in a Christopher Walken movie with Sean Penn and his younger brother.
Some of the ballads that Madonna and Leonard wrote would make great Stevie Nicks songs. They’re mysterious, brooding, and melodically strong.

Thanks, that was interesting. All the photos at the beginning were people that she knew personally, and then it expanded to include a lot of famous people. Gia Carangi certainly was fascinating; I have a biography of her.
