Give it all you got
I have not been watching any Olympics. But in 1980 when the winter Olympics were in NY, Herb Albert was asked to write a song and he wrote Give It All You Got. Herb is best known for Rise but this brilliant piece peaked in the 20's on the pop charts during the Olympics. It brings me flashbacks because ABC who broadcast the Olympics in 1980 would play this all the time. Gosh remember the miracle on ice in 1980. Anyway, enjoy this masterpiece that many of you may not have heard in a while.

Now I am really confused. It is Chuck Mangione, not Herb Albert. I am sorry for the confusion. Homer must be using the midwest google in the middle of a corn field. Not sure why I had Herb Albert on the brain and he would come up in the Google there but maybe that's why they call it Noodle in Indiana
Back to the song. It reminds me so much of 1980. I was only 10 but I remember the Olympics and the first one that I really got into. Remember Ty and Randy? Hostages in Iran, attempted hostage rescue, Soviets in Aghanistan, Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy, George Bush, Ronald Reagan running for president. The Mac was on tour belting out Think About Me during the last leg of the Tusk tour. It was the last good Olympics during the cold war. The Summer Olympics were boycotted and then the 1984 ones were too. It was a moment in time and this song brings me right back. I suppose because jazz artist Herb Albert also made it big on the pop charts in late 1979 and early 1980 I got the 2 confused. Sorry Here is Herb's #1 smash Rise from just a few months earlier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vltC-O7PDYQ We were jazzy and gassy in the late 70s and early 80. Homer, this song was on the charts with Think About Me. What a moment

Jazzy and gassy? Remind me to not buy a ticket. Not interested in either. Think About Me? Now there's a song(not to be confused with Oh Daddy)!
