She knew it was over in 1976, and has had no romantic interest in him after that – certainly not in the nineties or beyond. |

I remember Stevie saying she finally lost Lindsey after his first child was born.... I’ve been searching for the last hour or so, but cannot find the blessed article. |

UPDATE: I don't think this is the only article, but here's one: http://www.mtv.com/news/1609042/flee...sey-buckingam/ Asked when she knew the romance was really over, Nicks said, "The day his first child was born. I knew that was it ... that was the definitive thing."

Definitely one of the dumber things I've read on this forum. And that's saying a lot.

hahaha. and when was that when she said that she's just waiting for his kids to turn 18 and go to college, and then maybe she can get together with him again. guess now his kids are about that age, yet he obviously has no intention of getting together with her. one positive thing her ousting him did is that she can no longer spew such crap.

meanwhile Lindsey telling it straight last week people somehow charaterize as passive agressive. only Nicks is allowed that. please.

I'm not condoning it, excusing it, or applauding it. Just describing it.

Describing it would be simply stating the facts: ie., Stevie said she knew the romance was over when his first kid was born. You are trying to rationalize it-- well, she didn't really MEAN it, she was just engaging in PR. You thought you could call it out as not true, but then when the article was produced and shown to be a real comment, you had to try a new tactic, this time explaining it away.

"You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you."
Stevie wanted to be the most important romance in Lindsey's life, even if she wasn't the woman he was with. In that sense, she didn't let go of him. During The Dance, the chemistry was still there. Stevie, newly slimmed down and feeling good, was ready to play. Who could blame her for thinking that if they still had a spark after all those years, that there might be a chance for them - if not to be together forever, at least to have some good times for a bit? After his first kid was born, she had to recognize there Kristen was no longer just another girlfriend. She was the mother of his child. Harsh reality: That's going to trump any on-again-off-again thing SnL could ever get going. So I take "The day his first child was born - That's when I knew it was really over" at face value. |

You're just saying that for the PR.
