For the first time Donald Trump seems Presidential.
Anyone listen to Donald Trump's acceptance speech last night?
I thought for the first time he sounded presidential. It's the best speech I've ever heard him give. If I had to describe it in one word it would be powerful. And well over 30 million tuned in. Like most conventions it was pretty much a snoozefest. With the exception of Rudy Giuliani. What Trump needed was a home run. And that's what he got. I'll let others argue about the facts he presented in the speech. And how we're going to accomplish what he promised. What one can't argue about is the passion in which he gave the speech. And how it moved the audience. He took command last night like no one I've seen in recent history. A powerful America. A safe America. That's what his rival won't and can't promise. With today's events in Germany and the others around the world including the United States recently, the campaigns that promise law and order or even more importantly safety will do well. Our current President and Hillary seem clueless about this. You say no? You heard the President's speech along side his Mexican counterpart today? Sometimes events change what would have been the outcome of certain elections. And that it seems is happening now. Last edited by iamnotafraid; 07-22-2016 at 04:29 PM.. |

Presidential? Trump just tried to scare everyone. I thought you were not afraid? A president is supposed to be a leader and fearless leader. Trump spoke as an empty vessel the way Obama did in 2008. Trump said that everything will be perfect when he is elected. His daughter said we can all dream again when he is elected. Sorry dear but I don't need Trump to dream. I don't have this fear that a mind cult uses to control its members. An acceptance speech is supposed to be positive and unite people to your side. Instead Trump pandered, promised the moon with no substance and just wanted to scare everyone.
Fear and selling phony nationalism sells to weak minds. Is it not logical to ask why you are afraid? What specifically is Trump going to do to make you safe? Specifics please. Its just not true that Trump just being president would prevent radicals from killing people in Germany? If you really believe that, you probably believed Obama when he said he could stop the oceans from rising.

1. Yes. 2. Sounds like you read the Democratic talking points of today. 3. Concern is not necessarily fear. 4. That's exactly what he was doing last night. 5. If you want to live in the land of make believe as many Democrats (Liberals) do. 6. The same as most all political speeches. Remember Hope? 7. Another Democratic talking point. We should be exceptional. Expect no less. 8. A stronger military. Safety for it's citizens and law enforcement officers. 9. It certainly could have. Which administration did this recent terrorist group thrive under? We can't even call those groups by name. Now that's fear, or possibly something worse. 10. Where did I say I believe? I believe it was a great speech. Did you hear the crowds response? He had them in the palm of his hand. That was a very emotional event last night. Most American's are sick of this current situation we're in. Almost to the point of boiling over. I will say this. We are at a very dangerous point. We are more divided than ever. This leads to extremism. And that's where we are now. |

No specifics as I hoped would not be the case Get OFF the talking points Name specific Trump proposals that will make you feel safe in the USA. You liked the speech which is cool but policy matters so please name policy that Trump will do to make all the dreams come true. I'm a radical true conservative If you love killing terrorists then you should love Obama. He has expanded the drone policy and killed more terrorists than all former presidents combined times 100. Trump lives in the land of make believe and it seems you are a believer in make believe

I didn't watch everything but I was impressed most by Ivanka and that soap actress.
Yes, i think Don's biggest chance is selling vague promises to very fear wracked people, and with what happened in Munich today he's one tiny step closer. It would be neither total disaster nor would everyone suddenly win big forever fabulously hugely or whatever. If you want another Jimmy Carter outsider who won't be able to do anything go for this non-politician pretending to be a blue collar everyman. A bought out hack like Hillary is still preferable in that she won't sue the media, impose prayer on people or pretend the climate isn't damaged. I can't say whether there was a huge breakthrough for LGBTQ acceptance by conservatives but I do think Trump is at least personally tolerant and tries to take the high road (he hated Rosie O'Donnell for other reasons I guess), but I think he is definitely racist based on tweeting exaggerated stats about black violence from a white supremacist website and calling a U.S. born Judge a Mexican who can't do his job. Whatever kind of Christian Donald is I can't imagine given all the small sub contractors etc. he has left in the lurch whenever bankruptcy allowed him to basically do unto others, and what about releasing his financial info to really back up these extravagant claims of financial success? That's his big selling point but he still won't show us the money. On a lighter note, someone put a cute little wall with barbed wire around Trump's star on the Hollywood walk of fame! |

One of my favorite movies is The Wizard Of Oz. If you think about it both Trump and Clinton make an appearance. |

I think Glen Beck is a lunatic most of the time. But sometimes he makes sense. He sums up Trump's speech perfectly for me IMHO. http://www.glennbeck.com/2016/07/22/...form=hootsuite

We certainly agree on one thing. Glen Beck is a lunatic! I'm curious to see what's going to happen in Philadelphia this week. And I don't mean the speeches. More so what's happening outside the convention. Hopefully it won't get too crazy. |

Watch how the media tries to make the DNC email
story a non-issue. Poor Bernie Sanders. How about a third-party ticket? Cruz/Sanders??? I think I'll just try to listen to the highlights of this week's convention. Watch to much and I think I might get sick. |

Just two points and then I will shut up.
1. I just feel like it's important for people to know the process by which refugees (Syrian or otherwise) get to the US. Unless they have close family members (l.e. mother or father) in a country, they do not get to choose the country where they go. The UN decides that. They have to wait 18 months to 2 years minimum before they are allowed to come to the US. During that time they are vetted. So promising to check immigrants before they come here is just saying that they will keep the same process that already happens. And it seems unlikely that a potential terrorist would pretend to be a refugee just so he could wait in a camp for 2 years with a small chance that he would end up in the US and that his background wouldn't come up in the vetting process. 2. Do those of you who are voting Trump agree with the GOP's anti LGBT stance (try to overturn the SCOTUS's decision to allow same sex marriage), anti choice for abortion, anti Muslim ("We won't let any Muslims into the country" (totally impossible to do, by the way), its refusal to accept climate change, and his horrible comments on women's appearance and mocking of people with disabilities? Or do you not like those things, but think that other things take precedence? Just wondering. Obviously I"m not a fan. Kevin |
