Here's what i've got so far Wings Of A Dove - Danny Kirwan Edge of Seventeen - Stevie Nicks Hot Summer Day - Danny Kirwan Hot Summer Nights - Walter Egan/Stevie/Lindsey Caroline - Danny Kirwan Caroline - Fleetwood Mac (Lindsey) Silver Streams - Danny Kirwan Silver Springs - Fleetwood Mac (Stevie) Castaway - Danny Kirwan Castaway (outtake from 1981) - Stevie Nicks Only You - Danny Kirwan Only Over You - Fleetwood Mac Without You - FM (Danny) Without You - FM (Stevie) Weird stuff huh Last edited by welcomechris; 07-18-2014 at 06:39 AM.. |

"The Ghost" was a Bob Welch song, not Danny Kirwan.

Yeah and though I agree with a lot of these connections, some I hadn't even thought of before, I think these are a stretch:
Hot Summer Day - Danny Kirwan Hot Summer Nights - Walter Egan/Stevie/Lindsey Only You - Danny Kirwan Only Over You - Fleetwood Mac It is funny though how Danny is sort of Stevie & Lindsey rolled into one, musically similar to LB yet lyrically not far removed from SN. John |

Has Stevie ever openly talked about Danny Kirwan or his contributions to the band's history?

Danny!
That's why Danny is my 3rd fave FM member. He's the best of LB and SN.

Many tunes on his post-Mac solo albums are outstanding and have mid-70's blockbuster written all over them, easily as good as anything from the genre, but sadly it wasn't to be. I read somewhere that the Kirwan and Green story is a big gap in music history, and a story that needs to be fully told to the masses.

Danny is criminally overlooked and underestimated. As his songs evolved, he was creating the bridge where they began to transition from a blues band to a pop/rock band. It's so sad he couldn't hold it together, and continue to have a prominent, life-long music career; so much talent and potential lost to the world.

I agree. Danny's pretty amazing. I feel he and Stevie would have had a much better shot at writing together than her with Lindsey. That actually could be said for Bob too. My mind's kind blown from the idea of a seven-piece FM. I imagine that only could last an album before everybody killed each other, hahaha.

That's so unfortunate if Mick's statement still is true. I'd love to see him as the backup guitarist on the tour. A pipe dream, but still great.
