Default Dog(s) on tour

Just curious...since Stevie seems to always travel with her dog(s), how do they handle the issue about quarantine rules for animals that cross international borders (like into Canada) and especially on the European leg of the tour. Maybe those rules don't apply for travel to Canada, but I know they are very strict in England, France, etc. Does anyone know?

You don't have to do that when you travel to England. Rules have changed. Must just have paperwork from vet.

According to Stevies answer to the question from http://rockalittle.com/askstevie.htm it seems like the dogs don't go with her to Europe

Question 129 - from D. Stahli in Pittsburgh:
Do your Dogs travel with you wherever you go?

Stevie's answer:

Yes! They go wherever they are allowed. When we were touring Europe and Australia they had to stay home! It was terrible!

Travelling to Canada, all you need is a Rabies vaccine certificate. You can, if you follow all the requirements to the letter, get a "Pet Passport" so you can bring animals without the long quarantine period to parts of Europe.I'm a veterinarian and I have had to to do some of this for people on occasion.

Very interesting. When Christine visited Mick and then went to Los Angeles, I was wondering how long she could stand to be away from her pets.

From what I recall, there is still a short quarantine period even with a Pet Passport. If it was me and I was going to Europe for a few weeks only, I'd get a pet sitter. I have two shih tzus and if I am travelling a lot by plane I leave them with a pet sitter.

Thanks for all the input from everyone. I've always been curious about that. I guess, in the big picture, it would have been better for Stevie if she didn't take a "trip" with her dog.
