In my head they are both bigger than YMLF. But I guess Billboard never polls my head.

Thanks for posting this. My original hard copy of this mag got really bashed in storage. How incredibly generous of her to encourage Stevie to play piano onstage, which is her own territory. I can't imagine other members of the band encouraging anyone else to play their instrument onstage.

Well, according to Billboard, it reached the exact same chart position as OMH, but I suppose by 1980 FM's chart success made #20 seem like a "minor" hit.

I just love EVERYTHING about Think About Me. The guitar sound is perfect. The drums and tempo are perfect. The DUAL Chris/Linds vocal.

I think it's made every single FM compilation I've ever created.

Have I mentioned how much I love that song?

Just heard "Think About Me" while in the "99 cent store" this past weekend. I usually feel like such a pauper when I shop there, but once I heard it over the store's sound system, I felt like I was meant to be there.

I agree about the two of them (Chris & Linsdey) having a blend of sounds and a delivery of voices and sounds. The need of love past and present in their song subject "think about me", with a drum beat that reflects a heart beat.

IMO

It's such a great song. Gritty guitar, seductive vocals. Great drum beats.

And I love the live versions, too, where the song is sped up and the keyboards pushing it forward.

It didn't chart as high as Say You Love Me, but it did chart before it--and was the big break the band needed. Maybe that's what surprised her? Maybe they all thought SYLM would be the one to make the difference. Not sure why Warm Ways was the lead single for the record, either. Love the song, but it's not an obvious hit.

It was actually Rhiannon that really put them on the map it was the most played song on FM radio in 1976 .SYLM was a great follow up and finally pushed the album to number one.

Imagine how great this would have made Stevie feel back then. BN bombed and FM was a huge success.

Even with more time in the keyboard spotlight, McVie doesn't harbor illusions about her performance. The success of the band hasn't altered her perspective on her own playing. At heart, Christine still sees herself as the same pianist who looked through her brother's Fats Domino books for inspiration.

"I'm not a connoisseur of great keyboard ideas," she laughs. "I am a sensitive keyboardist. I play well within the framework of the band, I listen well to what the others are doing, and I don't just bash out regardless and soar over everybody. I'm very good at jelling musically, and I think I'm using more chords than I used to, but I'm not adventurous enough. Let's face it, I'm an adequate amateur at best. At heart, I still like to play the blues more than anything else."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We listen to Christine and think she's one of the best piano players in the world and she sees herself as an adequate amateur. So all you aspiring musicians out there, just remember to have confidence in yourself, because after all music is supposed to be fun.

Yes. But without OMH, Rhiannon probably wouldn't have gotten heard. OMH opened the gates and made it possible for American audiences to see FM as a singles band.
