Default Is this voodoo?

So, I don't usually watch TV right now, but I'm watching wife swap.

The peaceful raw food mom is trying to calm her fake sons by doing a bit of meditative deep breathing. The boys asked "Is this voodoo?".
They seemed to not realize that vegetables were good for them, as well.

Are these common thoughts...uh...in other places? Or do they just happen to pick people that think these types of things every time? Like the lady who thought astrology was devil worshipping. I mean, she was crazy - but still.

Almost every time I happen to catch these shows, there is someone, or some family, who appears to have been living in an education-free bubble their entire lives. This is why I hate people. JK.

At first I thought it was the southern people, but of course that was stupid. I mean, they usually are southern people, but the touchy feely vegetarianey families are sometimes southern or from the midwest, too.

The meat lady just cried at the nice raw food family, and was all "so what if we eat squirrel - we can't go out and buy all the fruits and nuts we need, hunting is cheap for us".

I don't really have a huge issue about hunting for food (although eating well isn't necessarily expensive, especially if you "hunt" the seasonal veggies/fruits/nuts where you live) - it was just the squirrel that cracked me up.
Also it's weird how vegans/raw food/etc people often have that granola-ey coloring (that's what I call it). Sort of blondish brownish greyish hair, blue eyes, pale/greyish skin, and freckles. It's the hair and the skin color I've seen over and over. And I've seen tons of vegans/vegetarians. Obviously there are exceptions, I was one - but it does seem very common. Which goes with the theory of Europeans being mostly a certain bloodtype that evolved when agrarian civilization did. But anyway, I just think that is weird.

P.S. - This family had like, 12 buckheads on their walls. They were everywhere. Small house, too. Sooo gross, so lame.
