Default MORE FM news in Rolling Stone...

I just got mine in the mail..it is short so i am just gonna type it here:

Fleetwood Mac are at work inside a rented Bel-Air home recording their next album.Despite the departure of long-standing member Christine McVie,the remaining four,Stevie Nicks,Lindsey Buckingham,John McVie,and Mick FLeetwood seem in good spirits."As much as we miss Christine personally,I don't think there is anything missing musically" says Buckigham.
New tracks for the album include Nick's haunting "Thrown Down" and Buckingham's potent "Peacekeeper".The new set is currently untitled-recent suggestions include Infatuation(Nicks' suggestion after a recent dream) and Gift Of Screws.

Cool news... thanks for posting that!

I'm psyched to see that Lindsey has at least one new track (beyond the 'Gift Of Screws' tunes that we've all been assuming will be there).

"Peacekeeper," eh?
I doubt this one's autobiographical.

I'm also really pleased that we have official confirmation that "Thrown Down" was recorded. This one has had Fleetwood Mac written all over it, since the first time I heard it.

As for album titles... I hope they abandon 'Gift Of Screws.'
I liked it as the title for Lindsey's solo album, but I'm not sure if I dig it as a Mac title.
Not too sure I'm all that crazy about 'Infatuation' either... but that one might grow on me.

Thanks again for posting that.

I guess we know that at least one Buckingham demo is gonna be on there - good old GOS. However, I'm with Johnny - I hope they don't use that for the album title. It seems like they should come up with one that's more representative of the whole group than naming it what Lindsey's solo album would have been called.

Still, "Infatuation" sounds kind of girly-twirly. lol Why doesn't John McVie come up with a good one again?

By the way, I love it when albums aren't titled after songs a la Mirage and Rumours. It's more fun that way.

Lightbulb YAY and BOO!! LOL

YAY: I love the fact that there is a Lindsey song we may not have heard!! I just hope it's not an alternate title to a GOS song!! LMAO!! That would SUCK!! I know all Stevie fans are gonna be SO excited about Thrown Down...although it's not my fave demo, maybe Lindsey can turn it into magic like Gypsy!!

BOO: Infatuation and GOS!! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! GOS is LINDSEY....and Infatuation???? What does that have to do with FM or the songs??

**Yes, let's not use a song title, I like using titles like Mirage and Rumours too, it's cool! I'll bet John would come up with a great title!!

Well, put me down as another one who doesn't want it to be called Gift of Screws! Or Infatuation, for that matter.

I'm so happy about this news! This makes the new album seem tangible, and we know they aren't pulling our leg.

Thanks for posting this!

Default Thanks FiercestCalmSea - GREAT Update!!!

I've always likeed GOS as title, but I agree that something (a) more representative (b) non-track and vague like Mirage, would be great.

I don't know why but I just really like Infatuation. Probably becuase that desribes my feelings about the Mac!

Or after reading the first RS post, maybe it's Stevie having a nightmare about the studio-house kitchen, with the weat things and licorice. In-fat-uation! Lol!!

Fair enough, as Christine left the bulk of arrangement and production etc to Lindsey. But, I dunno, it kinda stings. But I shouldn;t take t out of context; Lindsey was obviously saying it in response to the interviewer on the defensive about the absence of Christine's Hitmaking golden touch. At least with lyrics and vocals. ("Darghggh get over it Joe!!" I'm out of my mind....)

Yeah i don't know why but I get that impression too hey, Christy. I could see it as a title for 'Shuffle Riff'.

I totally agree. "Thrown Down" is very good, but it doesn't (IMHO) have that signature Mac-ness about it........yet.

I hope LB Gypsy-fies it.

p.s. Love your new sig. line Down On Rodeo! Very cool...very cool indeed!

lol! Thanks Seteca. It's obviously a reference to Mac Album fever. I have this thing of only having questions from lyrics as my sig. There's actually not that many!

OK, am I the only one who thought this sentence was at least a little weird? Perhaps I'm being too paranoid.

Eh,i dunno about weird, per se,it just depends on how you see it....I mean sure there is something missing with her gone..but FM certainly ain't gonna crumble without her there. To be honest i think he answered in a very fair way, seeing as she opted out of it,what else can they really do but go on without her.

lol!! Ummm....."High priestess...she's the keeper of the peace in this..." hehehehehe!

Yeah. Um...I don't really care for them, either. Infatuation is better than GOS...but probably just because I've got that cd of Lindsey demos...THAT'S Gift of Screws, to me.

I think why people are not liking the new record to be called GOS is cause it is so associated with just Lindsey. When you think about it, the meaning relates to everyone in the band...

Gift of screws means enduring troubles, pain, heartache etc to find who your are, and what is important to you. That's what I think, and it fits each memeber of the band if you think about it because everyone now seems to be at peace; after all the drama in the past.
