Arrow Billy Burnette interview

This is a fairly recent interview. He is such a genuine and good spirit. He's not mean but sort of takes a swipe at the Neil Finn era of Fleetwood Mac saying that the band was better when he and Rick were in it. He also discusses how he was responsible for the band reuniting for Clinton's inaugural. Al Gore called him and Billy started organizing Don't Stop and Stevie asked if he would stand down for the performance.

Meh. I hate how he says ”styles were changing…grunge.”

That may have been true for “Time,” but Tom, Don, Roy, Eric, and Bonnie certainly had success 1989-91. Ironically, Smashing Pumpkins and Hole had hits with Stevie songs. So, there actually was a market for Fleetwood Mac.

I wonder what happened to his voice. It doesn't sound good at all. He did mention some health issues. Interesting that he says they partied hard during his time with the Mac. Makes some more sense now as to why Lindsey wanted out. And there was Stevie fresh from rehab going right back into the fire. Great find. I love these type of interviews because you get the real deal. Stevie asking Billy to step away so Lindsey could be in on the Clinton deal is Interesting also. She said she called Lindsey and practically begged him to do it

was billy a smoker? i think he was. that may have impacted his voice.

so i guess stevie didn't ask Billy to step away until after Lindsey said yes.

and yeah, i don't think she was stepping back into any sort of environment where sobriety was an overriding factor.... unfortunately.
