Unhappy John Stewart, May You Rest In Peace

I just saw that John Stewart passed away yesterday due to a massive stroke or brain anuerism. For those who may not know, John was one of Lindsey's early influences through his work with the Kingston Trio. Later on, Lindsey teamed with John to produce the Bombs Away Dream Babies album. John was the influence for Johnny Stew. Later on, John wrote Liddy Buck in tribute to Lindsey.

This news is particularly upsetting for me because over the years I have become a big fan of John's. I wish his family and friends comfort and peace in this sad time.

Matt

That's so sad. Everything I'd heard of John's I really liked and he seemed like a real good guy from the interviews I read. 68 isn't even that old these days

I'm sad to hear it. I was introduced to his music through FM and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to hear it.

This must be a shock for everyone involved, and for Lindsey too. One of his big musical friends....carpe diem, lindsey.

Unhappy

Didn't see this thread first, sorry. I am very sad to hear this. I love John's music and he will certainly be missed. He was a HUGE influence on Lindsey. I saw him at Lindsey's San Francisco concert back in November 2006, but didn't say anything. I was really shocked it was him walking past me. I wish I had said something to him, but he seemed ready to go, so I didn't.

RIP Johnny Stew.

John Stewart also did The Penguin Q&A back in 2000. Seemed like a pretty cool guy.
