Default 1984 interviews

Here are 2 interviews from 1984 when Chris was promoting her solo album. The first one is the Warner Brothers Media Guide. It was done with someone from WB & it was done in her home. The second one is from a Rockline radio show from 2/6/84. People called in & asked her questions. Both of these files are pretty large. They are all one track on my CDs & I can't break them up into smaller tracks.

thank you, Mary Anne. I love you. I have never heard the 1984 Rockline with Ms. McVie before.

I finally have that PBS thing Women of Rock on DVD, with Christine, Dionne Warwick, Tammy Wynette.

Is that the one where she says that she's not some flippant bitch?

You don't happen to have a DVD burner do you?

These are really good!

In the WB one is it me or does she sound like she's got a cold?

Also when she talks about her dogs does she say "they're just Hollywood poofters" or am I going mad?

Her voice does sound a bit husky, but it sounds like that a bit on that laserdisc documentary too. Maybe that's how she sounds early in the day.

No, you're not going mad. I thought it was "little poofers" or something like that. Is that British slang or did she make up a word?

Poofters (if that's what she said) is old fashioned British slang for gay men.

Not used much these days

Well, remember that Japan documentary where she talks about her dog being gay. She probably did say "poofters". I had always just assumed that it was a made up word. This will bring a whole new meaning to that line in that interview the next time I listen to it.

Poof is another word - same meaning

Not exactly politically correct our Chris is she? Still it was more than 20 years ago.

I've listened to this again and she says "a couple of little Beverly Hills poofters"

I wonder if she talks about Dougal and George in the same manner?

Gail

Probably. They're the same breed as the dogs("little poofters")that she had back in the 1980's.

I'll bet the lady that was interviewing her had no idea what a "poofter" was?
