Default Lindsey's vocals sounding like other FM members...

...I mean, it's just eerie sometimes! I was shocked to learn that Stevie is not singing on The Ledge! (In all honesty, I was a little disappointed too, because I had always pictured them having fun singing the silly vocals together.) There's a litle "uh-uh-uh-uh-uh" in the background in the middle of the song that sounds just like her, and the very last "what it's really all about" sounds just like them singing together. I was listening to Trouble this morning, and the background vocals sound just like Lindsey and Christine together! I know there are lots of other moments I've noticed, especially where he sounds like Stevie, but I just can't think of them right now.

I was baffled for, like, 5 minutes ( ) and then I realized you must mean SYLM!

I could always tell that particilaur one was LB, but "isn't that wEiRd?! (to quote LB) .

Perhaps ironically, Stevie sang that "yeah" on the tours without Lindsey, which I'm sure didn't help you figure it out.

Just proves how much he loves the sound of Stevie's voice.

I've always thought it was really weird how similar Carol Ann's voice sounds to Stevie's on "It Was I."

I mean, it's one thing to date ladies that looked similar to her, but to date ones that sounded similar to her, too?
Dude, there's a fine line between having a "type," and being fixated on an ex-girlfriend!

Well, someone has a fixation anyway. I always thought he blended Carol’s voice to sound like his own, which can sound like Stevie's and can sound like Christine's somehow. Much as Lindsey and Stevie can have very similar sounding harmonies, I think he can also sound uncannily like Christine on certain songs, which is odd since I don’t think there's a lot of similarity between Stevie's and Christine's voices.

I'm with you here Les, in fact I've read a couple of reviews of Rumours in which the writers find it odd that Chris gave Lindsey "Don't Stop" to sing in its entirety.

I think it has to do with the fact that Lindsey will sometimes sing in breathy tones, reminiscent of Christine's singing style, and sometimes in reedier tones that sound closer to Stevie's.
So depending on which way he's singing, when he uses the VSO to alter his pitch, it'll either sound strikingly similar to Christine or to Stevie.

There are quite a few moments on 'Tango,' especially, where it can be hard to distinguish between his voice and Christine's.

I always wondered about that myself! I did find it strange, that somewhat similar voice! Later I started thinking about Carol Ann and Stevie, comparing them. They do look kinda similar, and both seem to have a kind of similar sexy singing voice...

Maybe there was some sub-conscious fixation thing going on with Lindsey...

Or then some Nicksfans are just having difficulties in accepting the fact that Lindsey didn't want Stevie appearing on his songs for a long period of time.

Well, my "fixated on an ex-girlfriend" statement was meant to be funny. How many winkies and smilies can I put?
I thought folks on the LB forum got sarcastic humour.

Is anyone saying that he wanted Stevie to appear on his songs? Isn't the reason he's faking her voice because he doesn't want to ask her to do it herself? He may not want HER, but he wants her sound.... that's all anyone seems to be saying.
