![]() Alright, I will be the first to admit that I do not know a whole lot about Mr. Green or some of his works with the early Mac, but I thought it would be cool to start a thread for everyone to sort of talk about what they like about Peter and his music.
![]() I will say that I think he was a great foundation for the greatest Rock band ever. Without him, FM probably wouldn't be where they are today. Much Love, Ethan

![]() Suffice it to say that FM wouldn't exist at all without Peter Green. Beyond that, his guitar work is second to none. Timing and tone. Clapton doesn't come close. His vocals were soul searching. And of course his songs were beyond compare. Man of world, Green Manalishi, Closing My Eyes, Before the Beginning. I'm sorry, but no other FM writer even walks in his shadow.

![]() He is a man, about 61 years of age, who loved music and found, in the blues, a way to express himself. At one time he defined what an electric bluesman was. He felt what he played. He was a great vocalist, and the consumate interpreter of Chicago style Blues. He facilitated the meeting of John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. and named the group after them. His brother once said he would play for free if people did not pay him. He got disillusioned with the music business and went to seek the meaning of his life elsewhere when he could no longer live within the music business. Some say bad acid caused his leaving at the budding of his fame. Who knows for sure. For a time he was one incredible musician.

![]() As Librax said, what made him such a wonder was the unbeatable combination
of masterful guitar playing, genius songwriting och one of the best blues voices around. The only real comparison is therefore Jimi Hendrix, still. Clapton/Beck/Page didn't have this multi-talent. Oh yeah, I heard there was a forgettable Californian easy listening pop band with the original Mac rhythm section going for a while... ![]() But really...where are Fleetwood Mac today? Retired?? |

![]() BB King said "Sorry, Eric (Clapton), Peter Green is the only guitar player to make me sweat".
Nuff said.
