Stevie Nicks is a distraction Fleetwood Mac cannot afford...
In the interest of fairness...
Stevie: - Says there's no money in new music so refuses to make a new album - Won't get out of bed to rehearse until after 3pm - Calls Lindsey 'Mr Useless' We all know that Buckingham/McVie was supposed to be the new Mac album. They could be touring behind it now as a group. So Ms Nicks's attitude is holding the group back from moving on. Discuss... |

I am at a total loss of any kind of explanation. The only thing I can think of is, perhaps, Stevie is wrapping up her solo career and is seeking to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. Otherwise, I have absolutely no idea. They could have been on their second or third Fleetwood Mac album by now since the reformation of the the five fireflies in 2014. I still hold hope the upcoming Buckingham solo project slated for early 2018 morphs into the last great Mac album followed by the Farewell Tour. In these strange times, who can say? The world needs a great Fleetwood Mac album, especially now. Yes, I love Buckingham McVie; though, imagine if it was a double album with all five members. What's baffling is there's no explanation from the band.

I love Stevie, but this has been so frustrating to me.
You miss Christine. Christine comes back. Now you don't want to do an album with all 5 members. I understand you want to tour with 24K but you don't want to do an album at all because you say no one will buy it. But you will do a solo album that won't sell as much as a Mac album would. The biggest frustration is that she wants to tour with the Mac. So lets just go out do the same songs and make millions from us fans, but don't give us new music. I still love her and follow her career but it's not quite the same following this past year.

So the sleeping during the day thing has been what she does since what...1974? This is not a newflash to the members of FM or anyone else. The Mr. Useless comment is being taken way out of context in my opinion and is nothing worse than he has said or done to her in the past. And I suspect that she is just truly over the control freak in the studio so doesnt want to record with him anymore.

I guess she had me fooled for awhile. I thought she really showed Christine McVie a lot of respect when Christine retired. But, her attitude and comments over the past several years have really eroded my interest in her. (sans WH and BD remasters... I obsess over those albums because they are just so damn good)
In my opinion, her ignorance is quite staggering. It's not just the useless comment. Her comments about making money in music, and growing old, and body shaming people her age tell me that she has no idea what it would be like to live in a world without mega money and a staff and posse always telling you how amazing you are. She's lost her mind for making some of the comments that she has. Mr. Useless? The guy that got you in the band that made you the pseudo diva you are today is useless??? The guy that told an already famous band that he's not joining unless Stevie joins too?? Bitch please, have several seats and shut the hell up. You are so full of yourself. Continue to have people write for you and do another solo album. Collaborate with some young artists and/or soundtrack (the last one was beautiful). And just stop talking. STOP TALKING. Nobody gives a damn that you can't wake up at a reasonable hour to work with the band that got you there. STOP TALKING ABOUT LINDSEY SO MUCH IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WORK WITH HIM. Next time someone wants to interview you, DECLINE!! and that's just HOW I FEEL... pun intended.

She's doing just fine. Also, Fleetwood Mac hasn't been a "band" since the 80's. Lindsey and Christine certainly took lots of time off. Stevie can as well.

And Stevie thinks everyone is a control freak. Not just Lindsey. She's told stories about Don Henley making her do her songs over and over and over until he liked it, she called Kenny Loggins a "slave driver", compared Fleetwood Mac to the army, talked about how harsh Jimmy Iovine was and plenty more. She's overdramatic and has a victim complex. Everything is always everyone else's problem, never her own. The only time she's ever happy in the studio is if she's going solo. |

And I suspect she may also have had her bunch of problems with Dave Stewart....

What irks me the most is how she talked during 16 years about Christine's absence and how much she missed her, and how she reached to her when she wanted to come back, but once she does, and Christine wants to make new music, her hate towards Lindsey prevented her from helping her so-called friend. Forget Lindsey, what she did to Christine is what bothers me the most.

You make a very valid point that I hadn't thought of. Could Stevie be seeking a SOLO induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to join the ranks of John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel, Jimmy Page, Michael Jackson, and more? There are many MEN who have been inducted both with their bands AND solo. She would be one of the few, if any, women. Interesting thought.

- Is perfectly correct that there is no money in new music. It's hard enough for young musicians let alone legacy acts...but she's wrong to say that's a reason not to make music. She SHOULD make new music and write new songs FOR THE JOY OF IT. And because she respects her "friend" Christine McVie. - Stays awake until 5 am. She has only slept four hours when it comes to 9 am. I don't blame her for not wanting to rehearse until she's had her rests, especially if she has been up all night writing new songs for the tour (I doubt it but hey stranger things have happened). - Lindsey IS useless at anything other than music. It's a fact. She respects his craft but rightly acknowledges he has never done anything but music. He has not waited tables or cleaned restaurants or worked a regular job or studied at university. SHE HAS DONE ALL THESE THINGS. |

Actually, Lindsey also studied for a time at university.... and neither graduated. He in fact did work some regular jobs, which others have pointed out. He held a telemarketing job-- for about as long as Stevie held her dental assistant job, I would point out. And he has had a dual career both in music and in creating and managing quite a nice portfolio of properties for decades now, buying and selling real estate in and around LA. Some people were in rehab instead. See how that works? Anyone can throw mud. She worked at most a couple of years of their career (if that) at a series of menial jobs to make money that she didn't last terribly long at and wasn't particularly good at. My heart does not break for her for having to work a couple of weeks (her dental assistant job) or a few months (waitressing) at real jobs. He took gigs playing (he toured with the Everly Brothers for one) in addition to working out all their music. She whined about having to be in the studio at Sound City for 12 hours a day making their first album. See, I did it again. I love her, but she's not a saint, and she's not the most objective at telling their history.

Stevie was a dental assistant??? I thought she cleaned toilets, not teeth. WTF?
I'd let her clean my toilet, but she ain't getting near my grill!
