Greeny/Mayall live Double Trouble query
When the first ‘John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers Live in 1967’ CD appeared in 2015 it featured a great version of ‘Double Trouble’, apparently recorded at Manor House on 5 May 1967. Greeny’s playing is wonderful. When the second CD came out in 2016, it also featured ‘Double Trouble’, this time apparently taken from a performance at the Marquee, no date given. But to my ears the two tracks are identical. Has anyone else noticed this?
The track length on the first CD back cover is given as 7:33, but it actually clocks in at 6:32, very similar to the 6:35 given on the second CD. |

Marquee date is 4/27/67. Haven't listened to the live 67 shows to compare but they are different on the originals.

Thanks, Thomas - but it is specifically the tracks on the two CDs I was wondering about.

Double trouble
Tried to check this out only to find I don't have Double Trouble on Vol 2. There were only 12 tracks on my copy. Don't know why this was.

Checked my CDs - no problem with missing track(s).
It is indeed the same performance of Double Trouble on both - just different fade-ins/-outs. Wonder what recording date/place is the correct one? |
