Default Favorite "Lindseyisms"

Kind of felt LB's board needed some more love.

Nothing specific, just things that keep the love going for you. Right now for me...

1. The way he acts right here:

2. The song "Bleed to Love Her" because it is perfection.

3. His over-pretentious, cerebral way of expressing himself, like instead of saying "I see a cat over there" he'll say "In my glories of vision I detect a feline within my proximity" or some such overdone language. it's endearing...

4. This expression: why can't he look like that all the time?

5. Tusk the album and everything about it.

6. His hair because it's really quite perfect and even at it's most heinous (imo "Go Insane" period) I'm sure millions of guys his age wish they had half of it.

7. This video!!!!!>

8. Out of the Cradle...always and forever.

9. The song Underground because it's honest, melodic, and I never tire of it.

10. Every date of the "Released" tour in the states...I may not have been at every show but I'm pretty sure that he rocked the casbah.

11. Coming off that last part...his love for the Clash and once saying he wished he was in it. That'd be too much greatness right there.

12. His taste in music. Go LB!!

13. The song "Secondhand News" live. Because it kills.

.....more later....

Hahahaha! Absolutely. I used to find this so damn annoying, and still do sometimes, but usually it just makes me crack up.

"In my glories of vision I detect a feline within my proximity" - sounds like an Engrish translation of Rhiannon!

I love the way he moves when he plays guitar. I'll call it movement, because it really isn't dancing. The way he stomps across the stage. Kind of like in this performance, after the orgasm thing.

(Let me take this opportunity to recommend that if you have the Mirage show on DVD, do yourself a favour and watch it without sound on fast forward )

I know, right? Well, at least he gets it with Thom Yorke.

14. The white shirt look...I want more of it.

15. Everything about him on The Dance. Dayum.

I love that clip for the fact that Lindsey brought up a big point about my problem with Stevie's lyrics; one of her weak points as a songwriter -- her tenses are all over the place, rendering many of her lyrics confusing if not nearly incomprehensible. And Stevie bringing up Bob Dylan as her defense!!?? She's so ridiculous sometimes.

With her solo career I think she surrounds herself with "yes men"; people who won't challenge her too much, and sometimes her work has suffered for it.

Maybe that's why she's somewhat cantankerous towards Lindsey...because he doesn't buy her $H*% that easily. He's not overly impressed, although it was quite lovely in Destiny Rules when, after hearing those demos (which sounded awful to me, but who am I?) he was so full of praise for her. Stevie, likewise, doesn't act all impressed with Lindsey. The little bored expressions bordering on full-blown yawns when he's doing his solos during songs they harmonize on? Secretly, they know how good the other is but they just want to give them a little more of a push to see how they can challenge themselves.

Re: Stevie's lyrics...I think she's quite long-winded and scatterbrained but I honestly think some of it is just sooooo beautiful, like Wild Heart and Gypsy and Angel. Those types of songs I just adore. A lot of her stuff on SYW just grates on my nerves, and I completely hate anything of hers where the production is so muddled and it drowns away the beauty of her voice. I love the Tusk stuff the most, and then solo her Wild Heart songs are my favorites. And then that Touched By an Angel song is my fave soundtrack tune...

Yikes, I've turned this into a Stevie post. Ok, back OT...

36. The red shirt. (Because it's better than the black)

Love everything mentioned here to far.

Here's a new one...

The fact that sometimes, when he's soloing, say at the end of ISA or Come, he slides his hands up and down the neck of his guitar, almost as if it were an extension of his member.

7:00 onward!

This will sound perverted, but I really love the fact that he seems to get off a little bit during most of his guitar solo's, mostly because you know he's really enjoying what he's doing and still has a passion for playing. Musicians get how truly good that feels.

Talking Hee!

2 minutes into this video...the foot thing.

3:18 in...foot thing.

WARNING: Honesty ahead.

The OOTC era is the last time Lindsey really surprised me with his playing/singing. When I listen to the OOTC shows and things like the David Letterman songs, I get so upset because he's doing things on his guitar and singing like he never did again. If you listen to him playing Go Insane in 1993 during the New York OOTC tour, you'll FLIP OUT. The Dance ain't got NOTHING on his playing back then. Plus, his vocals...I get that his voice is older and has changed, but he can still play around with melodies. There is NO reason he cannot. I just want him to play around more.

Now that I've ranted a bit, back to 100% lovin'.

You know, the man could murder someone and I'd STILL love him, just for I'm So Afraid and Red Rover alone. Those songs...I can't explain in words how much I love them.

The goofy a$$ faces he makes in almost every fan photo. Cracks me up!

His approachable-ness is wonderful.

The fact that he and his Turner are joined in some spiritual union. LOL

He sometimes wears sh*tty clothes, but doesn't give a flyin' crapola.

One word: EYES.

The night I'll never forget:

Christy: thank you for your entire post! I'm calling you by your first name now since we've met in person and I think you're cool.

OMG, the EYES. Lindsey really has one of the most gorgeous set of eyes I have ever seen. The eyes are so my number 16.

17. The total lack of fashion. I think at one point he may have had a bit but these days it's total generic monochromatic simpleness. And that's putting it nicely. However, it means he could care less and I want to love him more just for that.

18. The fact that he has a big black poodle. I mean, it's probably Kristen's but still...it's kind of funny.

19. This pic: because it shows he had it when he was 10. And he even dresses the same.

20.Under the Skin because I think it's his best album lyrically and I think he was wearing his poet hat quite a bit there.

21. "Live in Boston" Eyes of the World performance, or why I love this man.

22. Every pic of him with with the kids, but especially this one:

23. How he looks right here:

24. Shut Us Down...and how he performs it here:

25. His love for Blonde on Blonde and I Want You (because that was my fave Dylan song for two years straight in middle school).

26. His bitchiness. And the fact that he won't deny he's a little bitch. Plus the fact that WE can't deny he's a bitch. But, still...what a guy.

27. October 22, 2006... Because he put on one of the greatest shows of my life and took the time to engage his fans with a genuineness I still am floored by...and because he was a DOLL to me. And the eyes were 100 x more perfect-looking in real-life...oh LB.

I love this performance!

and the fact that this one exists is hilarious. kind of a controversial subject for a 10 year old to be singing about, right?

I love his sense of humor and his deviltry.

Christy mentioned that he and his Turner are joined. I love the way he can play guitar almost absentmindedly sometimes. His intensity during a solo is fine, but I also love it when his hand is doing one thing and his head seems to be completely detached from that and he is having entire conversations, while playing the guitar. He does this when he has silent conversations with audience members during a show, but also in some of the backstage footage with the band. He'll be playing the guitar and having a conversation with Richard about heaven knows what. It is indeed like an extension of his body, both in the grand sense and the mundane. He twiddles it like his fingers.
