Exclamation New Lindsey documentary

Just received this email alert from eil.com about the new album. It mentions that Lindsey has also completed a documentary about the making of Under The Skin.
Oh and it confirms with a quote that Cast Away Dreams is indeed about his lovely wife.

LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM
Under The Skin
2006 UK 11-track CD album
Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham will release ‘Under the Skin’, his first solo album in 14 years. ‘Under the Skin’ represents his fourth solo release following ‘Law and Order’ [1982], ‘Go Insane’ [1984] and ‘Out of the Cradle’ [1992].
Focussing almost purely on vocals and guitar with little percussive or production elements, ‘Under the Skin’ represents Lindsey Buckingham’s most intensely intimate work to date. The opening track ‘Not Too Late’ sets the tone for what follows with his searing vocals backed by a lone guitar. A similar approach is applied to his interpretation of ‘I Am Waiting’, the original of which featured on the 1966 Rolling Stones album ‘Aftermath’.
His minimalist approach also shines on ‘It Was You’, a celebration of the coming of parenthood that recalls a playground chant or on the infectious ‘Show You How’. It’s with ‘Cast Away Dreams’ that Buckingham delivers the album’s most personal & evocative moment. "On the road with Fleetwood Mac, my wife had been visiting me and we had a fight right before she had to get on a plane to go back to LA", he explains. "Alone that night in the hotel room I wrote the song. I phoned my wife the next morning and read her the lyrics".
Lindsey Buckingham plans to hit the road in support of ‘Under the Skin’ with a band line-up stripped down in comparison to the mass of guitarists that have featured in the past. He has also completed a documentary of the same name that features performances and an examination of his life and its influence on the album. A full album of rock material is almost completed and will be released in 2007.

i wonder if the actual documentary will be shelved until the 2007 release of the rock album or if that will be sold beforehand? i'm thinking shelved -- it would make more sense to chronicle the making of two albums back to back.

That would make sense to release it alongside the second album.
It's pretty exciting though, to not only have the promise of two new albums and a tour but also a documentary. Maybe Lindsey really is trying to make up for lost time!

I'm getting lost here. Not in time but in intensity. How can a Buckinghamfan handle this amount of news?

.....faints....

By the way:

I totally dig the description of the opener.......

Excellent news!

Brian J. posted that Best Buy has two editions listed on their website... perhaps one will be a Dual-disc with this documentary as the DVD portion.

You know what, if it's going to be the same contrived and calculated bull**** as the Destiny Rules documentary, don't bother. I am excited about new Lindsey material, but I am always weary about documentaries. Rarely do they actually show what you want to see as opposed to what they want you to see.

i always like watching lindsey squirm in front of the camera. i think it will be interesting even if it does turn out to be calculated. i bet it will be different though, because vh1 won't be filming it, i'm sure.

hmm. i wonder who did film it?

i'm assuming there was a ton of juicy **** that most likely didn't make it past the cutting room floor in regards to the syw doc. therefore, i'm guessing lindsey trusted the guys that made the vh1 doc and has enlisted the same team. wonder if this will also air on vh1?

I don't care if it's contrived or not, it's simply a nice bonus - why complain about that, especially if it's released on the dual disc of UTS?
You don't have to watch it but it's nice that he's made the effort, IMO.

Yeah, I mean what do we get to see Lindsey at a friggin PTA meeting or something? I hate to say it but I think I'll pass on this documentary, thanks. I am guess that I am just not as excited about this whole Lindsey thing as I thought that I would be.
