I never said anything about the incident being illegal. I said that I wished a friend of the family would intervene. If I were such a person, I certainly would. That you find my concern ridiculous couldn't mean less to me.

I too felt really uncomfortable watching how the mother spoke to the child, but I am particularly sensitive about this kind of thing. I hate seeing parents speaking down to a child in a condescending way, so I really felt for this kid. Its interesting to hear other peoples reactions.

Totally. Today, I found Prince's SIGN O THE TIMES movie (the best movie of 1987) on the web. And there are lots of other movies not available on DVD that I've found online. Also someday I plan on watching all the Barbara Parkins Peyton Place clips on YouTube.
