Atlanta..close to Cancellation

According to 94.9 Lite FM and Star 94 in Atlanta the Rick Springfield show (tonight) and Fleetwood Mac's saturday show at Chastain were close to being called off..

According to them...all the entertainment venues in Atlanta had to go under an intense fire inspection by the Atl. fire dept....(something that hasnt been done in a long while)....and Chastain got the most violations...and the fire dept considered shutting it down this weekend..until they fixed it..although most of the violations were minor (food lines blocking the fire exits, etc)...it would have constituted a temp. shut down

Chastain talked them into letting this weekend's shows go on because of the money already invested..

SO...they decided to let this weekend's shows go on..and come back and check soon....

All I can say is THANK GOD!

Good lord. How many fire hazards can an outdoor venue have anyway?!

It was kind of much ado about nothing. Phillips Arena was also involved and it remedied its problems in like a day. Chastain has too I think. This is just another example if the incompetency of the City of Atlanta which own Chastain

just for the $750,000 guarantee that FM gets just for playing, I'd definitely say that was quite a bit of money invested....
