Surprise Front Row and Autograph in Boise
Okay, this is long, but I think a pretty good story if you have time for it, lol.
So I just got back from Boise, ID and what turned out to be the most surprisingly wonderful day of my life! After going to the Auburn show and being totally blown away, I decided on Monday to buy a ticket to the Boise show. I ended up with 5th row, on Stevie's side. I was completely happy with that. When I got off at the exit for the Idaho Center, a local radio station was giving out tickets for the show. I signed up, just in case they had something better. Turns out they had some front row seats, and there was a guy there (40s, Tusk t-shirt, in case he's on the list) that was going around making deals with everyone to get the front row seats if someone else won (he'd give his ticks plus cash). When he tried to make the deal with me, I declined saying I'd hold on to such good seats at all cost, but when we realized we were both on our own, we made a deal that if he won, I'd get the extra ticket and vice versa. BUT, neither of us won. However, I did win the next pair of seats, (mediocre first level). I sold them to some people there for $100. Then headed over to the show. Soon after I arrived, who showed up next to me but hyper deal making guy who had somehow traded his way up to the 5th row. We noticed security was giving the front row bracelets, so it didn't look like we'd be getting up front. Dealmaking guy said he'd start asking people to trade tickets with us. We'd offer $100 each+our fifth row seats. I was okay with this since I'd unexpectedly just got $100 for the tickets I won. So my new friend goes up to a young couple sitting front and center, right in front of Stevie's mic--the perfect seats. He talks to them for about 5 minutes and came back--they accepted!! I was so excited, my legs were shaking. We switched tickets with them, got our front row bracelets and I was now standing in front of Stevie Nicks, just as they walked out on stage. This was complete heaven!! I had brought my Buckingham Nicks album and I waived it in the air after the Chain, Stevie looked down and smiled with a sort of surprised look on her face...this was my first "Stevie eye contact moment," I only managed 3 of them though I was right in front of her, it's hard to get her attention--she just looks out into the crowd mostly. Lindsey of course, is another story. I had the BN album sitting on the stage in front of me and he spotted it and looked at me, seemed to be asking if it was mine. I nodded and pointed at it, he smiled and gave me a "woah, that's an old one" look. Now moving along to the autograph bit. I was hoping to get the BN album singed. So towards the end of the set, I put the album along with my black sharpie right up by Stevie's feet, easy for her to grab and sign, I thought. She looked down at it but showed no sign of doing anything. Things weren't looking good. When she and Lindsey came back out for "Goodbye Baby" I grabbed it off the stage and held pen and album in the air at Lindsey and motioned, asking if he would sign it. He smiled and nodded (God, I love this guy!!) saying he'd get it after the song. I gave him a thank you and a thumbs up (I was a dork, but a very happy dork, lol.) Sure enough, as soon as the song was over Lindsey came over and grabbed the pen and album and signed his name, and then signed for two others, and then gave me my pen back. Excellent, but still no Stevie. She came back by and was standing right in front of me. In a last ditch effort, I looked up at her and pleaded, "please, Stevie." She avoided eye contact but looked right at the album and said "I can't." I thought it was a little weird, didn't seem like it would have taken too much effort. But hey, 1 outta 2 ain't bad!! (Anyone have any ideas for getting Stevie to sign?) All in all the coolest concert of my life--never have I been near that close! Highlights/Interesting tidbits Stevie had tears during "Say Goodbye." She put her chin up on her microphone looking over at Lindsey at the end of the song and had a few tears rolling down her cheeks. Lindsey was great all they way though the show--I got to play his guitar--awesome!! And as I think someone else mentioned at a different show, I got to do the "It's Alright, alright" along with him for a line or two during "Stand Back." Stevie, though she didn't pay as much attention to us in the front row as we may have liked, continues to be in excellent voice. "Silver Springs" blew me away!! This is my favorite song of all time and she nailed it. "Stand Back," "Rhiannon" and "GDW" were all excellent. I'm loving the live version of "What's the World Coming To?" and pretty much the whole show....this band rocks!! Sorry so long, Erin |

What a fantastic story!!!!!!!!!
I think Stevie is not bending down to the level of the crowd during this tour because of her well publicized hip problems. |

I love me some Stevie, but what's up with the lack of eye contact?
I know about the hip thing, but why won't she even look at anybody? -Sharon

I don't think Stevie is capable of bending right now. As far as the eye contact thing, maybe one of her kooky stalkers is back. Great story. I'm so glad LB signed for you. Hopefully you'll get the other half of the set someday.

What a great story!!! You certainly were lucky. And I wouldn't worry about Stevie not signing, I'm sure it was nothing personal! We all know about her hip problems and it seems like everytime someone throws something at her (flowers, etc) that Mick or Lindsey always picks them up for her. But that's so great that you got Lindsey to sign the cover! Something tells me he's been signing a lot of those during this tour I've heard a lot of people got theirs signed! Thanks for the Say Goodbye observation. I am getting emotional just from reading that description. It must have been very moving! Thanks again! xx Meredith |

I'm definitely going through withdrawls too--but it helps that I'm really tired, I drove back to Missoula, MT last night (7 hours) and I haven't slept too much yet. I can't believe it was less that 24 hours ago!! Erin |

Thank you for your review!
You are certainly one very fortunate chica in the way you got to the front of the venue! Congrats on a great show. I am sorry to hear that Stevie wasn't able to sign your album. Sounds like she wanted to, but as others suggested, "I can't" seems to be really hard on her as it is on the fans. Perhaps you'll get an opportunity to get it signed somehow in the future. Don't give up! You're half way there on Buckingham Nicks!
All sorts of things seem to be happening with the band, and they are reaching out a lot to the fans. What would really be cool would be occassional "signings" held along the road for a few minutes before or after a show. Maybe something like putting a random sticker on some items sold at the shows. Don't we fans come up with all sorts of ideas for this band? Songs to be released for "singles," LIVE DVD'S, etc. Who better to promote the band than the devoted fans?! |

If she signed one thing, then everybody would want something signed.
I think she was trying to avoid a scene. Linds don't care. At the shows I went to, Stevie just looks out, and Linds is all about making eye contact. Id rather be in front of him for a concert ( and for one I am, Im not sure about FU Center) But that is so great, Im so happy for you! You must be very nice looking to have Lindsey pick you out and sign for you. Very cool ( Im very jealous!) LOL
