Default Nielson Ratings

Has anyone ever been contacted by these people? I recently received a post card and a phone call telling me that I have been selected to be a Neilson family for a week. I guess they will be sending me a few log books to write down the shows I watch for the week. I'll play their silly game. OHHH and the best part... they'll send me $15 for my trouble! Anyhow, I thought it was kinda neat. I never really knew how they got their reported ratings.

My sister did this for years. She told them she had 6 televisions and then marked down all the shows I worked on...trying to keep me in a job

You know, now that you mention it, I did this for a couple of weeks a while back. Damned if I can remember if I ever got paid, though.

I dont know if even the CIA could get to the bottom of how radio or TV ratings are actually compiled.

Don't real, long term Neilson Families have some sort of little box attached to their tv so that when a show is on that they are watching, or about to watch, they can key in somehow the data, which is sent directly to Neilson... How else would they get their over night info so quickly... They seem to know the very next morning what everone watched the night before.

Yes, I think you're right. I was just told I will have a journal of sorts, and will do this for a week or two.
