I had this crap on my computer a couple months ago! It has the appearance of scanning your computer for viruses. I couldn't open any applications. System Restore solved the problem.

I had it too. Twice. Both times I quickly shut off the computer and that got rid of it quickly.

I too, had this ****, a couple of months ago, after using Limewire. It froze my computer for four days, until I finally figured out how to get rid of it. Anytime I'd try to delete it, or run any kind of virus program, it would shut my computer down, right then and there. As soon as I got rid of it, I deleted Limewire. Free music and porn isn't worth it!

I'd like to cut the genitals off of whoever starts viruses and stuff like this.

It's not worth it unless when your computer freezes, it does so at just.the.right.moment.

Yeah, Malwarebytes took care of it for me. I believe that I got it while clicking on a site that I thought was safe, but wasn't (Thanks McAfee!). Whatever you do, don't click on it this Internet Security 2010. Someone at my work's wife did & their computer kept turning on & off, on & off. He had to take it to the shop & get the hard drive wiped clean. I don't why all this crap is out now. It's not a pleasant experience at all.

Vista Security 2010 too. It appeared on my machine last night but I think a rather stunning joint effort between AVG and Norton told it where to stick it.

You CAN get rid of it on your own. I don't remember exactly how I did it now. I had it on my desktop, and I just kept Googling how to get rid of it, on my laptop. Seems like that Malwarebytes wasn't getting it done for me, and it, in and of itself, seemed to be taking over my system!
But yeah, the real bitch of Internet Security 2010, is that it will keep shutting your computer OFF, when you're trying to delete it. It knows!

My priorities are in order! I only made it about 3 weeks! I'm now using Frostwire.

Master of my domain? Apparently not.

That's good. I confess I was worried about your commitment for a minute there, but it appears you're back on the right track now. Whew.

Last night, before I started this thread, when my computer got infected with this crap,I was able to get SUPERAntiSpyware up and running as this junk was runing with the little icon at the right bottom next to the clock was alluminating with the popup with the fake bullcrap popups.SUPERAntiSpyware scan approx 30 minutes and picked out the virus and dump it into its quarintine section, then I had it delete the crap out.so far its ok tonight. Also tonight I jacked up the IE security too.Hahaha oh yes I forgot about porn sites.

Well, I couldn't get rid of it of the Rootkit on my own, but Malwarebytes got rid of the Internet Security 2010 on New Year's Eve. I really tried to get the Rootkit. I couldn't google anything from my home computer, so I'd get on my husband's netbook & write down the site. Then I'd put that in. It wouldn't let me download any anti-spyware software. The only one that I could was Ad-Adware & that didn't get the Rootkit. I couldn't update malwarebytes. Heck, I couldn't even get on their website from my home computer; it wouldn't even come up. This Rootkit was in there good. It's gone now though I think. No problems so far.
