Default Years ending in 7 are important to Fleetwood Mac...

1967 Fleetwood Mac was formed.
1977 they released Rumours. Their biggest album.
1987 they released Tango In The Night. Their second biggest album.
1997 they released The Dance. Their comeback album, which saved their careers.

Could something great happen to Fleetwood Mac in 2017? They need to release a new album to take advantage of the situation. Have faith in destiny...

Er, they formed in 1967.
I think, to some degree that's why 7's have always been milestones.

7's also have had bad stuff happen to the Mac

1987 Lindsey left
1997 Christine left

2017 Stevie leaves the Mac in the studio but agrees to tour only??????????????

As God as my witness when I posted this last night, I included one more Note: Please don't someone say 1998. I deleted it.

I was there for the Dance tour. I remember how sad it was to hear Farmers Daughter thinking this is the last time Chris will sing with the band ever. It was tough to watch. During the tour it was announced Christine was leaving the band. She declined the offer to extend the successful and sold out 40 gig US tour. When the tour ended in 1997 she performed her swan song with the group. She packed up and moved to England the next year. Yes she did appear with the band at the Rock N Roll hall of fame or some other appearance. That was expected and did not change the fact the she announced in 1997 she would not be recording or touring with the band anymore. Lindsey performed on Behind the Mask and was on stage with them in 1990. Would you say Lindsey left in 1990? I think not.
So I stand by my statement I think the year you announce you are leaving after the tour concludes in the same year amounts to leaving the band. No?

And if the band could have agreed, we could have had a follow up to 'Say You Will' in 2007, and here we are ten years later having the same discussion again

I was there for The Dance tour, too.

There's no parallel whatsoever between Lindsey making cameos and Christine leaving.

Fleetwood Mac never made a public appearance between the last note of "Farmer's Daughter" and the Brit Awards without Christine, so like the band, I'm standing with 1998 with her leaving date.
