I vaguely remember a lofi B/N version. Or was that a rough demo? But not with the Mac, as far as I know.

The song has never been played live in a Fleetwood Mac set to my knowledge. I DO think "I Don't Want To Know" may have been considered for a set list and made it into a rehearsal, but dropped before a live show ever made it to the stage.

I absolutely adore the song. It's got such an Everly Brothers vibe. The handclaps are simply infectious!!! The cast of GLEE did a great version of the song.

Love this song. One of Stevie's finest.

Maybe you're thinking of "Don't Let Me Down Again"? They played that at least once on the Say You Will tour.

Not sure if it was in Mick's first book but I distinctly remember something along the lines of Lindsey and Stevie singing I Don't Want to Know as if their lives depended on it, in the context of a live setting, but probably rehearsal as it has never been in a Mac setlist to the best of my knowledge. I agree with Brown though, it is one of Stevie's best crafted songs and stands the test of time.

I was kind of bored hearing the tune in their last tour.I do like the tune .I rather to have them play Hold Me in its place.

What I love about the song is the innocence, playfulness, and simplicity. It's a nice counterpart to Gold Dust Woman and Silver Springs. It would have been a perfect song for FM to have done live when Christine was gone, too.

Are you thinking of "I Know I'm Not Wrong"?

Maybe you are mistaking it with this quote from the Rumours DVD?:

Lindsey Buckingham: "It was actually something Stevie and I were doing before we were in the band."

Stevie Nicks: "It was on the demo we came to LA with."

Lindsey Buckingham: "That would’ve been back in 1974 when she wrote that. And we did perform that live on several occasions. I think it was slightly inspired by Buddy Holly, after the Buckingham Nicks era certainly. But when we tried to get things going, and we were dealing with indifference from management and label and people trying to get us on the circuit."

Mick Fleetwood: "That song often gets forgotten about in terms of it being part of Rumours. I think it’s really unique. You get those voices together. And that was their style. That’s says what it was that we heard that they brought into this thing called Fleetwood Mac. Everything else grew from around that and all the exchanges with Chris and Lindsey and Stevie as writers and me and John playing. It became a unique thing."

Lindsey Buckingham: "We had to make a call on what the album needed. Kind of the group will would edit in and out what was working and what wasn’t. And that was great. At the eleventh hour to cut in something and have it be so straight ahead, and it didn’t require any pondering at all. That’s the atypical song on Rumours for sure."

Mick wrote in My 25 Years in FM that "Stevie and Lindsey sang (it) as if for their very lives."

Good memory!
