Default Buckingham Nicks Query

Stephanie is an instrumental I know....but I swear to god it became, at least the beginning part, part of a fleetwood mac song. And for the life of me I cant figure out which one. Thats where I come to you, my fellow mega fans.

It's in "Eyes Of The World" from the Mirage album.

That's awesome! I must have heard both songs a million times but never picked up on the correlation. In regards to "Eyes Of The World", I always focused on the blatant rip off of Pachelbel's Canon in D.

Is there a story behind Eyes of The World and Stevie's Enchanted also using parts of the same instrumental? I have heard the 'Enchanted Jam' which I love, but just wondered how the 2 songs came about?

I've never heard of this. "Eyes Of The World" and "Enchanted" sharing the same instrumental? An "Enchanted Jam"?

Are you sure you're not thinking about Stevie's Wild Heart dress rehearsal jam where they keep repeating the chorus of "Wild Heart" over an instrumental of the chorus to Lindsey's "Can't Go Back"?

Not surprising, really.

Stevie, 1981
Lindsey hates to write lyrics, though. Maybe that’s why some of his songs are so negative. [Laughs] He’ll have all these beautiful songs that are instrumentals for months. They have gorgeous melodies, layer upon layer of guitars. I exercise to his tapes, practice ballet to them. Then he’ll write lyrics for this beautiful song and it’ll have a different feeling than the music.

Glad it wasn't just me being crazy.

I did a brief Google search once and was surprised the 2 songs didn't seem to be openly linked.

It all has to do with the way people write songs. It's not always something is set out ahead of time. They each were part of that jam and they probably each had a copy of that tape, he wrote his lyrics and used that melody, and she wrote hers and probably had her band make something new out of it so she wouldn't be ripping Lindsey off.
