in this day and age of kissing the ass (And worshiping the ass...) of celebrities I am also surprised she received any time.

I guess if you have the money you can ALMOST get away with anything nowadays (Right O.J.???)

Default Free Martha!

I think it's bull**** that she got anytime at all!

Considering those fools in the White House have done the SAME EXACT THING (insider trading) and gotten TONS more money out of the deal, and what's going to happen to them? NOTHING. It was a trumped up charge and they used Martha as a scapegoat; come on, she's the "celebrity" people love to hate.

I don't think she should serve any jail time. She was wrong, but she's not a violent criminal, nor is she a threat to anyone's life or safety. Our jails are overcrowded as it is. I think she should have gotten community service, a fine, and probation.

It's the minimum sentence and yes, an appeal will be filed in ten days or less. The fine, however, was the maximum.

So do I. She's a first time offender. And here's a woman that came from nothing and made herself into something. The only differnece between her and the other crooks is that she' not a part of the good ole boy network.

That case was never about the money. It was about black and white and the Rodney King verdict. It does take big bucks to hire Johnnie Cochrane though.

If the trial in had been held in Santa Monica, I'd be inclined to agree with you. However, it was held downtown. He got off because the majority balck jury let him off as a payback for the Rodney King verdict. Some of them openly admitted that they were pissed off about him marrying a white woman and came dangerously close to saying she deserved it.

I agree (About jurors being po'd about OJ married a white woman)...

But hiring the attorneys he hired had to take alot of $$$, More than he probably ever had (Poor F.Lee Bailey, he went to prison...Boo-frikkedy-doo for that assmunch)

I would hardly call prison a country club! I feel really bad for Martha- I could not handle jail so how on earth is a domestic diva like that going to handle it? I just feel sick thinking about prison.
