The best FM album since Mirage.

I know I am in the minority, but I actually loved SYW and still enjoy it

Similar, at least. Only half of it is listenable.

I've alctually re-listened to it recently and I remembered how I actually have always enjoyed it in its imperfections.

Not a single person is going to comment on “New Stevie Song”....we all know there is no such thing anymore. Only, unused Stevie demos.

I love it all the way through. I have ever since it was first released. I even bought the DVD audio version which was pretty amazing. Complete surround sound version. My entire cd/dvd collection was stolen years ago, but most of it was backed-up on my Itunes. But not the dvd audio version alas :-(

Pfft.
Lay Down For Free is the only song I could live without.

Me too! I do think some songs are overproduced and would've been FAR better had they been simpler (Say Goodbye was ridiculously sped up) but so many songs are actually great. I think the album suits how their voices aged and reflects how so much about them changed as they got older, but they still are 'themselves'.

I was all about SYW when it was released, but haven't listened in its entirety in a while. Recently heard Miranda on SiriusXM FM channel. I enjoy that song along with many others the album.
As far as what should have been or what happened to cause this new lineup, I do not pretend to know. But I'm not satisfied with the current state of the band. |

Hmmmm
I still am not sure what people get out of Carnival Begin...
The entire album has grown on me since it came out, but there are a couple songs that just make me scratch my head. Carnival is first on the list. Glad they got some of this out there though. Red Sun could've been a great live song in a full FM show. Alas... |
