Default Mirage Demos/Outtakes

In addition to the amazing live Mirage tracks that have been posted, does anybody have any Mirage demos or outtakes to post?

I have Hold Me with only Christine Singing on it.

http://download.yousendit.com/517894B869FA1B6D

I also have If You Were My Love and I've Been Loving You Too Long [I like the former better than the latter ]

My biggest request is Hold Me with only Lindseys vocals. I know it exists...I just dont know where

I've never considered "I've Been Loving You To Long" to be a demo or an outtake. Fleetwood Mac rarely records covers. Most likely, they were just playing around in the studio, killing time, and entertaining themselves. Seriously, do you think they were considering putting an Otis Redding cover on the Mirage album? Doubtful!

^ Perhaps they were hoping it would turn out well enough to be used as a b-side? Cool Water?

Christine, I don't have the Hold Me you're looking for, but I've got the "angry" Smile at You handy. Unless that was really a Tusk outtake - I can't keep all this stuff sorted anymore...

Otis Reading? I thought that was Ike and Tina Turner???

I have Cool Water, not a big fan [yes that was a cover also]

I do have the angry smile at you, I like it ALOT better than the one on SYW.
[Im only asking for the LB HM because I saw on FMlegacy.com that they had it as SOTW]

08/16/2004 Fleetwood Mac, "Hold Me" (Acapella, Alt. Mix, Alt. Version #2, Christine Vocals, Lindsey Vocals, Mirage Outtake)

Ive requested that they re upload the Lindsey vocal but no luck yet

I love that version of SAY, Nixxxed
way better than the released version.

To tell the Truth, I really wish I was born a few years earlier than I was, I am at a perfect age to like FM [I finally realize what Ill probably always want to listen to, and my tastes have matured greatly from the BSB phase in 5th grade.], but there is so much I missed out on, and never will be able to get to experience.

Like the SOTW on fmlegacy. Just looking at the list theres abourt 50 songs I would LOVE to have, but they dont keep the links up, which sucks terribly

I second these guys. I say it's from a tour rehearsal -- I guess in this case the '82 rehearsals. Soundwise, it even has the ambience of the '82 rehearsal audio that you've all heard. It sounds just like the rest of it. They're just messing around; you get sick of going over "Go Your Own Way" forty times so you play other stuff for fun & release. The Otis Redding material is something that all of them would have known forever.

Same thing with that "Beauty & Beast." It was a tour rehearsal. that's about the only situation that Fleetwood Mac ever got together & set up their equipment in close proximity. The band's not even paying attention. It's just a loose jam.

David! You're back! Where the hell have you been, buddy? I and "we" have missed you....

Are you saying that the infamous Beauty and the Beast is a Tusk tour rehearsal? I kinda considered that but, being naive as I still am at my age, I thought maybe it WAS an early studio demo rehearsal. Then again, how many studio rehearsals do we have from them where the whole band is playing? Seems like they never played live in the studio, rehearsing a song. Everything was overdubbed and layered etc. It's amazing that they pulled anything off live as great as they did.

I think it is. It sounds like that kind of thing to me. Back when I could argue, I used to argue with Loftus about that one. I guess anything can happen if you rent a studio for a whole year, even though it couldn't have been SOP for the band to play as a combo in the studio. You're mic'd differently, so it's a lot of shuffling around. Plus, in Fleetwood's case, they didn't always use the same instruments for recording as they did for live playing. I just don't hear anybody trying on "Beauty & the Beast" as if they were really trying to squeeze an idea out of it. But I don't know for sure. If it had been dated accurately on the reel, you'd have a far better picture (fall '78 vs. fall '79).

lol check your references...yes indeed, it's an Otis Redding song...he wrote and recorded it. I'm not that familiar with the material of Ike and Tina...but I am very familiar with the late great Otis. They obviously covered the song. Did they not cover a lot of other songs too?

I love this demo for Oh Diane, even though Lindsey hasn't worked out all the lyrics yet, it's so raw and energetic:
