Talking I got to meet Jamie Lee Curtis !!!

She was in Toronto as part of the Unique Lives Unique Experiences series which is a selection of people from various walks of life giving a lecture on various topics. The series started in April and has featured Connie Chung, Clara Hughes (Canadain Olympic Athlete), former Canadian Governer General Michael Jean, Andrea Martin etc. June 1st sees Whoopi Goldberg coming to Roy Thomson Hall for a night of comedy and chatter.

Jamie was there last Monday to talk about aging in Hollywood, Facebook and Twitter, her family, beauty etc. I was lucky to get a backstage meet and greet with my twin brother and a friend. We got autographs and pictures which I am sharing.

She was very kind and let us in on a secret. She has never done a horror convention before but this year she is going to her very first one and will donate all proceeds to charity. She said she would be there all weekend and personally invited us to come and hang out with her. I got to tell her my story about my Aunt Kathy who usedf to work for a flower company in Ottawa and one of her coworkers was Derick Mckinnon the killer from Terror Train. She was amused at the connection.

I am in the picture with the green checked shirt while my twin is wearing the Halloween T Shirt.

Just stumbled on this. Fooking awesome. JLC always struck me as such a nice person. That's really cool this story. If I had a nickel for all the times my mom & I watched JLC films, I'd be stinking rich. The only other awesome scream queen (imo) is Adrienne Barbeau, and I'd love to meet her.

Side story: Mom & I went to see Terror Train when it came out. As we were exiting the theatre, I told mom I sure wish Dad was home cause it was kinda freaky (I Was maybe 9 or 10 when it came out). My Mom mentioned that she thought this guy was following us, and I thought she was just trying to fun me cause I was already a bit spooked. Once home, mom ushered me into the house, and we saw a car cruise by real slow. She went in, procured my dad's gun, and went back onto to the front porch and waited for them to cruise back...which they did, twice more before making off. My mom...maybe not best action to take, but bless her "Dirty Harry" mentality. lol

I am the twin in question. It was such fun, and I am so happy we got to meet her. As soon as she spotted my "Halloween" shirt she was like "A Halloween fan. Come on over." I am so happy to have met her.

We should do a thread of "famous people we've met"!

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I agree. I met alot of country artists over the years. As we know about rock artists. They take the loot and ride into the sunset.and say "See You Never".
