Wish List: Set for "The Classic"
I imagine the set we get for The Classic will more or less be what we got for the On With The Show tour. However, here is what I would love to see (I think it would make for a great final tour set as well!):
(I have always wanted to hear "Tango" segue into "Chain") 01 - Tango In The Night 02 - The Chain 03 - Rhiannon 04 - Say You Love Me 05 - I Don't Want To Know 06 - Second Hand News 07 - Everywhere 08 - Dreams 09 - What Makes You Think You're The One 10 - Brown Eyes 11 - Tusk 12 - Sara 13 - Isn't It Midnight 14 - Big Love [Acoustic] 15 - Landslide [Acoustic] 16 - Never Going Back Again [Acoustic] 17 - Hold Me [Acoustic] 18 - Gypsy [Acoustic] 19 - Eyes Of The World 20 - Little Lies 21 - Gold Dust Woman 22 - I'm So Afraid 23 - You Make Loving Fun 24 - Stand Back 25 - Go Your Own Way 26 - World Turning 27 - Don't Stop 28 - Silver Springs 29 - Songbird

Its a good thing you said "wish' list
The Mac is very ritualistic about their sets. They will play most of On with the show and remove a few songs to make it shorter. They will play their standards: The Chain, Dreams, You Make Loving Fun, Second Hand News, Rhiannon, Little Lies, Go Your Own Way, etc. I think its safe to say Stand Back will never be performed on a Mac stage again. Sorry chiffon heads I assume they will have to shorten things up a bit. The Eagles go on last? BTW, your wish list is pretty much the On with the show set list. Really? You wish to see almost the same concert again?

Also, The Eagles are on night 1 and Fleetwood Mac are on night 2. I agree that (again, in reality) it will be shorter than the average show.

My wish list would include a Buckingham Nicks song and one of the older Christine tunes, maybe Spare Me A Little Of Your Love, and be heavy on the Tango songs in honor of the anniversary and consequent reissue. I think that there's a good possibility Seven Wonders will make its appearance again, as well as Everywhere and Little Lies. I would like for Lindsey to pull out the title track or even Caroline but I'm not holding my breath. I would like them to retire some of their obligational songs like Dreams, Rhiannon, Don't Stop etc. (and also Stand back for that matter) to make room for something new but I know they probably won't. The never before performed tracks that I'd like to hear in place of some of the above mentioned are:
I Don't Want to Know Tango in the Night Caroline Big Love (studio version) Crystal That's Alright I don't know if a Buckingham McVie song would be performed but ultimately I think it wouldn't make much sense since those dates are sandwiched right in the middle of other dates of the Buckingham McVie tour, but in a perfect world it'd be nice to hear Stevie harmonize to one of them. I LOVE the Tango/The Chain segue idea and I too have always thought that would be great!
I really doubt The Classic shows will have any surprises at all. Totally agree we will see an abbreviated On With the Show set list..something like: The Chain You Make Loving Fun Dreams Second Hand News Everywhere Rhiannon Tusk Say You Love Me Big Love Landslide Never Going Back Again Gold Dust Woman Little Lies I'm So Afraid Go Your Own Way World Turning Don't Stop Songbird Silver Springs For this kind of show it makes sense but I can't help but wish they'd add Oh Well, Spare Me a Little, Why, a BuckVie song, and even a BuckNicks song mixed in with the above standards. I'd even go for Stand Back coming back if we'd get a few of those others. Last edited by jmn3; 04-18-2017 at 08:44 AM.. |

I think their set will be an even 20 songs, with Songbird as the final encore. They skipped Songbird a lot in 2014-2015, but I think they'll play it for these big festivals. I know they're just going to play the usual Fleetwood Mac set. My only must have song is Sara since they didn't play it in the US in 2014-2105, but they did play it last July at the Dodgers stadium.

I'd say this is a very likely set list for the Classic shows. The fact they are playing to festival crowds that includes non FM fans means they are even more likely to stick to the established hits and well known songs.
