Default Lindsey playing with a pick!

My ears are being super sensitive right now.

I can hear very clearly that the Rumours version of Dreams features Lindsey playing the acoustic guitar part with a pick.

It's far to plasticy sounding.

Random musing I thought I'd share for those of you who will freak out.
(Yes, I've read that he uses them sometimes while recording too.)

I always thought he was using one on the begining of Second Hand News. It's especially noticeable on the Rumours reissue version, at least to my ears.

Yeah well I think at that time, Lindsey probably got a better "strumming" sound with a pick. I never use a pick, but I will also admit they are better for strumming. If you're finger-picking something like "Landslide" obviously the pick-less technique works better.

Well, there was also the "Over My Head" from Midnight Special where he uses a pick...and a really ugly Strat.

He probably hadn't filed down his fingers permanently yet.

Steve, that file says it's only viewable with Window Media Player 10. And 10 is only compatible with XP. Is there any way for the rest of us to watch it?

On that, I don't know. It's not my file. It's at ThrownDown.Net.

(BTW, sorry if I broke some sort of link posting rule, but c'mon. It's a FLEETWOOD MAC video.)

I remember reading in a interview at some point, that Mick and John were really pressuring Lindsey, when he was first playing in the band, to use a pick because that was the sound they were after for the band. I don't know if that has anything to do with why he playing with a pick on Rumours, if he is, but it may definitely have to do with why he is playing with one on "Over My Head" on Midnight Special.

No worries. Stevie's voice is glorious in that clip. You must have eagle eyes because I can't make out what Lindsey is doing in that clip.

And on that really old version of YMLF(you know, the one I never got ), he sings the high Bb "You..........you make loving fun", at the end. Bb's not that high, but on "that" word, and holding it that long....whew!! It's Chris' part, I've always wondered why he took it. He sure as hell couldn't hit it now.

At the end, they show a close up of his hands and he clearly has a pick in it, but it is only for a few seconds.

Also, can I just say that I LOVE Christine and miss in a bad way her additions to the band.

A lot of those clips on ThrownDown are heavily compressed and tiny. I wish I had full quality versions of the RoseBud and Midnight Special performances...

Windows Media and RealPlayer suck. :P
