Default The Official "Heart" Thread

So, I am sure I am not the only person who is a huge fan of this fantastic duo of women. I got their greatest hits c.d (85-95) and am in love with it. I want to get some of their other c.d's as well.
My fave song is "I didn't wanna need you". It's just very powerful.

What are your thoughts on Heart???

Heart rocks....
Have seen them live a few times, and they never fail to disappoint.
Sappy at times sure... but just goes to show that great music was coming out of the Northwest long before Nirvana was around.

I love Heart. I grew up listening to their music. Though, I like their early stuff much better. A lot of their later stuff is way too poppy and fluffy for my taste, but they're still solid tunes. Ann never lays down a bad vocal, and that has lots to do with it.

I remember I stole my mom's "Dog & Butterfly" LP years ago, and it's still one of my favorite records ever. It's very cool to burn incense to

I love Heart. Their older tunes are classic, and the 80's songs are so fluffy and light that you can't help but love them.

Yeah, I like their latter stuff better, probably because the older stuff is what you hear on the radio ALLLLL THE TIME!!!!

But yeah, Ann NEVER lays down a bad vocal. Definately one of the best out there. Just wish they wrote their own songs.......

I can see saying that for some groups, but not Heart.

Besides. If bands were only "allowed" to do songs they wrote.. you'd have a LOT of songwriters - really, really good songwriters - never getting exposed. That'd be a crying shame.

Close-mindedness about music makes me incredibly sad.

Love Heart. I've seen them 3 times in concert...and they amaze me every time. Nancy is by far my fav of the two...

My very first concert was Heart. Bob Welch opened up. They were supporting the MAGAZINE record. I had 10th row seats and I was fifteen years old. They opened with "Cook With Fire" and I was blown away because I hadn't heard that track yet (DOG & BUTTERFLY wasn't due out for a few months). It was a powerful show and left a mark.
I've seen HEART play over the years in many incarnations. Ann Wilson is an amazing singer. I would never turn down the chance to see her perform.
I have a cute picture of me and Nancy Wilson taken when I was in college. Some day I would love to have a picture with Ann.

My hubby love, loved them in the 70's and 80's.
I saw them on a PBS special about two months ago and they still are great!!! I would love to see them in concert again.

Another group to show my age. I saw them during the Dreamboat Annie tour when they opened for, I believe, Loggins and Messina. Sat front row during the Dog and Butterfly tour. I also bought the Magazine album released by Mushroom Records without the groups consent. (It was pulled from the shelves within a few hours of it's release and re-released later with a different track list and changes in lyrics) I just happened to be in Tower Records when the shipment arrived. Back in those days every bar's houseband with a female singer wanted to either be Stevie or Ann Wilson. Great times.
