Or maybe it's just play words to placehold for what was largely an instrumental tune.
I think the band thought it was a throwaway, & I agree with them. All I can hear in this thing is just a very, very slight study in texture. And nothing very interesting there to these old ears: the percussion accents, the acoustic guitar Alberti broken chords, the breathy androgynous vocals, etc. It's the boring underbelly of the "Tango in the Night" approach.
