I can imagine it probably would've been complicated trying to convince a group that's supposed to be a rock band to welcome her girl backup singers. Especially because they all knew Sharon and Lori weren't just any singers, they were part of Stevie's entourage. Lindsey leaving was a huge thing and switch up so it makes sense that's when she would've best gotten the chance to do it. But Christine definitely wasn't too thrilled at first, I read where she said that she doesn't care where they stand onstage as long as she can't see them
