It wasn't as
zesty. What I don't think they realized is that by lowering the key it had the audial illusion of dragging the song down. Ya know- like in the old days when you would take a 45rpm single and click the speed control down to 33rpm.
Add to that the listless vocals dragging it down even further and you've got a receipe for disaster. One of the main reasons that song kicked ass to begin with was the fact that both Lindsey and Stevie were wailing the lead and high harmony. I dunno.... Some impartial party needs to get in on those rehearsal sessions and kick some ass and sense into their heads when they decide to do these things.
