FM is one of those bands that doesn't seem to have many blatant imitators. I can't recall many songs by other bands where I thought, "that sounds like FM".

One somewhat obscure song that DOES sound a lot like TITN-era FM is a song called "Pick Up The Pieces" by the BoDeans, from their 1987 album "Outside Looking In". The rhythm track is very strongly reminiscent of "Family Man" or "Big Love", and the vocals have a strong similarity to a LB lead with CM harmony. Musically this song would fit right in on TITN, although the lyrics are not something that LB would write. Years later, LB would use almost the exact same rhythm track on "Doing What I Can" on OOTC.

"Pick Up The Pieces" used to get a fair amount of airplay on WXRT in Chicago back in the late 80s/early 90s. A few years ago I was talking to a friend about the BoDeans and mentioned this song...she said "I always thought that was a FM song!"
