In August 1986, during the latter stages of production on the album, Nicks, Fleetwood, and Buckingham all appeared by invitation at a big benefit concert in L.A. and played short sets. After Buckingham spoke warmly onstage of "healing" and re-established band ties, backstage Nicks and Fleetwood totally ignored Buckingham. Not a good time.
Also never heard this story, but it fits perfectly with what's happening now. These two were made for each other.
