Also MIA: Elton John-Goodbye Yellowbrick Road
Beatles white album should be no lower than #2 (if and only if Exile On Main Street is #1)
Sure, Jimi's Electric Ladyland was good, but it is NOT the "be-all; end-all" of double albums. It would be in my Top 10, but not my Top 5.
My list:
1) Beatles-White Album
2) Stones-Exile On Main St
3) Derek & The Dominos-Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs
4) Cream-Wheels Of Fire
5) Fleetwood Mac-Tusk
6) The Who-Tommy
7) Bob Dylan-Blonde On Blonde
8 ) Elton John-Goodbye Yellowbrick Road
9) The Who-Quadrophenia
10) Jimi Hendrix-Electric Ladyland
Bubbling under the top 10:
The Clash-London Calling
Pink Floyd-Ummagumma
Stevie Wonder-Songs In The Key Of Life
Todd Rundgren-Something/Anything (with a guest appearance by one Rick Vito)
At one time were good, but now are boring to listen to:
Pink Floyd-The Wall
Genesis-Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
Yes-Tales Of Topographic Oceans
They didn't even consider double LIVE albums? Whassup wit dat?
What about these gems:
Allman Bros Band-Live At The Fillmore
Derek & The Dominos-In Concert
The Beach Boys-In Concert
Humble Pie-Rockin' The Fillmore
Peter Frampton-Frampton Comes Alive
Ten Years After-Recorded Live
Mountain-Twin Peaks
Traffic-On The Road
Grateful Dead-Live/Dead
Jethro Tull-Bursting Out
Fleetwood Mac-Live (1980)
Eric Clapton-24 Nights
David Bowie-David Live
Rolling Stones-Love You Live
And, what about TRIPLE ALBUMS?
George Harrison-All Things Must Pass
Emerson Lake & Palmer-Welcome Back My Friends...
Yes-Yessongs
Leon Russell-Leon Live
Grateful Dead-Europe '72.
