Out of the Cradle may still qualify as his best solo album, though Under the Skin is also stellar. Seeds We Sow may be close to Out of the Cradle, and perhaps even surpass it in some ways. Cradle benefits from that uniformity of sound that I talked about in another thread, a uniformity that SYW and GOS lack.
Since Cradle, the only solo record that didn't hit a homeroom for me was the official GOS, which would have been probably his best ever in its original form.
