Gary Moore's version of I Loved Another Woman on this (as an example )is not bad at all . I ,surprisingly ,found his playing quite expressive. and to be fair. he could have gone over the top and given his guitar a distorted tone on this song -but he didn't !
However ,I don't think his singing has the emotional depth of Peter's -you believe that Peter lived it ,( and he probably did !)
But watching Gary play on these clips did give me a thought :what would we be saying if Gary had played this backed by Mick and John Mc Vie It's all to easy to forget their impact on the overall effect . Peter backed by Mick and John and Danny was fantastic, but Peter without them ,I think ,was slightly less fantastic ?
