The musicians have also proven themselves quite an able cover band, taking on the likes of Radiohead, Tom Petty and an inspired take on
Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere,” a song Batmanglij and Keonig bonded over one hazy night back at Columbia.
“Ezra and I got really high, and I played the
Fleetwood Mac version for him. He was blown away,” Batmanglij chuckles.
“Even though there’s a lot of heavy production going on, at the heart of it is a great song. That’s where it all connected.”
