I like Heroes Are Hard To Find ALOT, but not as much as Mystery To Me. For Me, Mystery To Me is near perfection. There is no way that Christine's songs on MTM are toss offs. "Why", "Hypnotized", "The Way I Feel" & "Emerald Eyes" are about as good as it gets. MTM was the first non Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac album that I ever heard, so I'm a little biased.
But, Heroes is a terrific album, too. You're right about Christine's songs here. I LOVE "Come A Little Bit Closer" & "Prove Your Love". And, the title track is almost as good as the first 2 songs. I like Welch's songs on MTM a bit better than his Heroes songs. But, I love "She's Changing Me" & "Silver Heels".
For what it's worth, I have a Goldmine Magazine interview with Christine from about 10 years ago. She mentioned that she liked "Come A Little Bit Closer". She thought it should have been a hit. I think she likes alot of her songs from the early years of Fleetwood Mac.
