This is from the Houston Chronicle, 8/20/87. I didn't see it online.
Mellencamp is back; Buckingham lenses last Mac video
BRUCE WESTBROOK
TWO NEW videos this week signal a significant departure and a welcome return in rock music.
[skipped Mellancamp stuff]
As for Buckingham's farewell video with Fleetwood Mac, it was directed by Dominic Sena, who has helmed some slick clips for Janet Jackson. Little Lies is also slick - colorful eye-candy with surface gloss and not much beneath. Also showing as an MTV exclusive, it offers flattering shots of the group singing in a pastoral setting. And, like the "Seven Wonders" and "Big Love" videos, they seem content with pose over performance.
But Buckingham was always more than a pretty face. His guitar playing was the spark that ignited the band on stage, and his producing skills gave the quintet their focus in the studio. He was the mind and the muscle that held the group together, and doubtless Stevie Nicks and company will miss him more than he misses them.
