being that my mother is an avid antique collector (and seller), the majority of my childhood was spent in antique shops. the only way she could get me to stop asking if we could leave was to send me to booths with records and tell me to pick out what i wanted.
i picked albums by their covers... albums with names or song titles that i recognized.. etc. so i don't really know what my first LP was... i've literally had tons of records my whole life.
i'm thinking the first LP i spent my OWN money on was k-tel presents "The Magic of ABBA"
i think the first CD i spent my own money on was Ace of Base - The Sign
... apparently i have a thing for the blonde/brunette swedish 4-somes.
nah.. it's probably just the infectious nature of dance music that i like so much.
