1997 was my first opportunity to see the Mac. In the 70s and 80s Peru was not a destiny for band tours. I guess the first band who performed in South America was Queen, in the early 80s in Rio de Janeiro, though I may be wrong. Later Rock in Rio 1985 (huge rock festival with Queen, Go Gos, Rod Stewart, James Taylor, etc..) put the continent in the map. Nowadays here in Peru we receive several artists.
So it was also a dream to me to see the Mac live. When they reunited in 1997 and learned they will tour, I decided to see them anyway. Internet was already born and I could get my ticket thru Ticketmaster. Having relatives in NJ makes easier to stay in the NY-NJ area and that made me decide to choose that city. Besides a thanksgiving holiday (and the shopping
was a plus for that short trip.
Back to the topic, maybe chili D or other ledgie who attended gigs from the 70s knows the answer.
